Next Meeting
Steimle said that the next SCRD meeting will take place in spring 2002. NGWA will handle all of the logistics. Planning activities cannot start, however, until NGWA receives approval on a grant. The approval process may take months. If so, the spring 2002 meeting will be pushed back to May 2002. Kathy Butcher said that SCRD members will be notified of the meeting's date and location at least 6 weeks in advance. Three locations have been proposed for the meeting: Nashville, Kansas City, and Orlando. Representatives from Florida indicated that they are eager to attend but that traveling outside of the state may be difficult in light on new travel policies that have been imposed in Florida. Butcher agreed to contact the Florida representatives before she starts arranging the logistics. If traveling outside of the state proves impossible for them, Orlando will be given priority as a meeting location.

Dick DeZeeuw said that a 1-day training session will be incorporated into the spring 2002 meeting and that Craig Dukes has been working on the agenda for this session. Dukes proposed including the following topics:

Dukes asked call participants to notify him of other topics that should be included in the training session.
