Attracting New States
SCRD members expressed interest in soliciting participation from more state representatives. Dick DeZeeuw said that he contacted representatives from Connecticut and California to determine whether they are interested and that representatives from California hope to attend SCRD's October 2002 meeting. Michigan might be interested as well, Richard Steimle said; he will send DeZeeuw a contact name for that state. Dave Davis said that Georgia discussed drycleaner legislation at one point. DeZeeuw agreed to contact a representative from Georgia for an update. Call participants agreed that the following should be made clear to new SCRD participants: SCRD is seeking individuals who are serious about bringing something to the table.

Project Management/Technical Issues Subgroup
William Linn provided an update on three of the Project Management/Technical Issues Subgroup's activities:

Program Development/Administration Subgroup
Doug Fitton, the Program Development/Administration Subgroup leader, was unable to participate in the call. Jennifer Farrell spoke on his behalf, saying that Fitton would contact SCRD members individually to let them know if they should bring Subgroup-related materials to the SCRD October 2002 meeting.

Outreach Subgroup
Robin Schmidt did not provide a formal update on Outreach Subgroup activities. Call participants did, however, discuss the following topics related to outreach:

The Fall 2002 SCRD Meeting
The next SCRD meeting will take place in October 2002, in Madison, Wisconsin. Cheryl Joseph of the National Ground-Water Association (NGWA) distributed a draft agenda prior to the call. The agenda was discussed and call participants agreed that the following schedule was acceptable:

DeZeeuw asked whether the agenda should include other topics. Davis asked whether there was interest in including a presentation on Resource Conservation and Recovery Act issues. No decision was made about whether to add this item to the agenda. Barbara Pyles asked how many representatives were allowed to attend per state. DeZeeuw recommended contacting Joseph for an answer to this question.

Miscellaneous
