Also participating in this State Coalition for Remediation of Drycleaners (SCRD) conference call were Richard Steimle from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA); Carolyn Perroni of Environmental Management Support, Inc.; Cheryl Joseph from the National Ground Water Association (NGWA); and Christine Hartnett from ERG.

Update From the Technical Issues Committee
Bob Jurgens provided an update on three of the Technical Issues Committee's projects:

Update From the Program Development/Administration Committee
DeZeeuw said that the Program Development/Administration Committee has continued work on the component project document. The most recent version of the document will be distributed before the fall 2003 SCRD meeting. By the end of that meeting, the first full draft should be completed.

Update From the Outreach Committee
Robin Schmidt has written an article about SCRD and state drycleaner cleanup programs. She has asked a shopping center association to publish the article, and awaits their response.

New Projects
Linn asked SCRD members to consider getting involved with the following projects:

The Fall 2003 SCRD Meeting
The fall 2003 SCRD conference will be held in November 2003 in conjunction with an NGWA meeting that is scheduled to take place in New Orleans, Louisiana. SCRD members will arrive in New Orleans on November 11, 2003, and participate in committee meetings between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. On the following day, SCRD members will meet from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Agenda items for this day will include state update reports, additional committee meetings, and an SCRD business meeting. On November 13 and 14, 2003, SCRD members will attend the NGWA conference.

Call participants agreed that the state update reports should all follow the same format. Jurgens agreed to send a template to Perroni, who in turn will distribute it to the SCRD members. If SCRD members want their state updates included in the meeting handouts, Cheryl Joseph said, they must send her electronic copies by November 4, 2003.

A new SCRD chair will be elected during the SCRD business meeting. DeZeeuw encouraged call participants to decide on an election process. They chose the following:

Call participants spoke briefly about the meeting attendee list. Representatives from Arizona and Louisiana are not currently planning to attend. DeZeeuw agreed to contact representatives from these states and invite them to the meeting. (Perroni will send DeZeeuw updated information for the Louisiana representative.)

Perroni asked SCRD members to review the SCRD Web site before the November 2003 meeting and to let her know of any updates that are required.

Future SCRD Meetings
SCRD members have decided that it would be beneficial to set the dates and locations for SCRD meetings a year in advance. Toward this end, they agreed that the dates and locations for the spring 2004 and fall 2004 meetings should be set during the fall 2003 SCRD meeting. Trippler advised e-mailing date and location proposals to Perroni by October 31, 2003. That way, Perroni will come prepared to the fall 2003 SCRD meeting with a list of options.

Other Meetings
Call participants talked about meetings that SCRD members are slated to speak at:
